Why survivors of emotional abuse may continue to question themselves, defend their intentions, and feel responsible for other people’s reactions long after the danger has passed.
This is actually weirdly comfortable for me to read Joyce. It makes me think of my mother. However, it also makes me think of myself and my siblings. You confirmed things I've long wondered. Survivors are very often children, who then become adults bearing unseen scars and unanswered questions. Often in spite of seeking help for those answers. Thank you.
